ATP Flight School to Expands Training Fleet with Over 30 New Aircraft in 2026

USA – ATP Flight School, the largest flight training organisation in the United States by fleet size and pilot throughput, has commenced deliveries of over 30 new training aircraft in 2026 from Piper Aircraft and Textron Aviation.

  • The first delivery of 2026 was a Garmin G1000 NXi-equipped Piper Seminole, a twin-engine aircraft integral to ATP’s multi-engine training curriculum, with over 100 Seminoles already in service across its network.

  • This was followed by the arrival of the first of 27 Cessna 172 Skyhawks, which will be delivered throughout the year. ATP has added 144 new Skyhawks over the past two years, with additional deliveries scheduled into 2027.

  • With a current fleet of 658 aircraft flying over 600,000 hours annually, ATP operates one of the youngest and most technologically advanced flight training fleets in the world.

  • ATP’s maintenance operations span 26 Tech Ops bases nationwide, implementing a predictive maintenance strategy that exceeds FAA requirements and minimizes downtime, ensuring safety and training continuity.

  • These aircraft investments are aligned with ATP’s role in training 25% of all new-hire regional airline pilots in the United States—serving over 2,500 students annually.

Statements

  • “With ATP training 25% of all regional airline new hire pilots, our investment in fleet growth is crucial in keeping pace with demand for ATP-trained pilots,” said Michael Arnold, Vice President of Marketing, ATP Flight School. “As the nation’s most trusted provider of airline pilots, only ATP has the aircraft and resource capability to consistently deliver a proven, no-compromise airline career solution to over 2,500 students each year.”

Training Aircraft Manufacturer Tecnam Reconfigures Market Strategy in India to Boost Support and Sales

India – Tecnam Aircraft has expanded its commercial presence in India by transitioning from a dealership model to a direct‑to‑factory relationship for all aircraft sales, service, and spare parts support — a strategic move aimed at enhancing responsiveness for the country’s rapidly growing general aviation and flight training sectors.

  • Tecnam has ended its formal dealership agreement with Air Taxi and affiliated companies Art Aviation and Amanra FZC, marking a restructuring of its India market approach.

  • The company cited India’s unprecedented aviation expansion and the need for immediate, direct engagement with operators as key drivers for moving to a factory‑managed model.

  • Under the new structure, all aspects of Tecnam’s presence in India — including sales, service, technical support, and spare parts logistics — will be coordinated directly through Tecnam headquarters in Italy.

  • This direct relationship promises faster processing of spare parts, warranty claims, and technical assistance, and streamlined communications between Indian operators and Tecnam’s manufacturing and engineering teams.

  • Tecnam’s full aircraft range — including the P‑Mentor, P2008JC, P2010, P2006T, and P2012 Traveller — will be available through this unified support and sales channel.

  • The company emphasised appreciation for Capt. Varun Suhag, founder of Air Taxi, recognising his advocacy for general aviation in India and his role in introducing the Tecnam brand to the market.

  • To inaugurate the direct engagement model, Tecnam is participating in Wings India 2026 at Hyderabad Begumpet Airport (28–31 January 2026) where customers and industry partners can meet the Tecnam factory team at booth 22B.

Statements

  • “India is a key market that demands our highest level of attention. By establishing a direct connection between our headquarters and the Indian operators, we are positioning Tecnam to better support the steady growth of major flight schools and airliners in the region. Our institutional partners and commercial operators require immediate, unfiltered access to our support and sales teams to maintain their operational tempo. This direct structure allows us to stand shoulder‑to‑shoulder with them as they expand their fleets.” — Giovani Pascale Langer, Managing Director, Tecnam

UK Flight Training Group Aeros Group Accelerates Growth with Further Tecnam Aircraft Order

United Kingdom – Aeros Flight Training has confirmed a further significant investment in its training operation, committing to the purchase of two additional brand-new Tecnam P-Mentor aircraft, scheduled for delivery later this summer. This latest order builds on the recent expansion of Aeros’ single-engine fleet and brings the total number of new Tecnam aircraft added within the current programme to six, reinforcing the academy’s long-term commitment to operating a modern, efficient, and future-ready training fleet.

The continued investment in Tecnam aircraft forms part of a wider, ongoing expansion across Aeros’ facilities, fleet, and instructional capability, designed to support growing demand for high-quality modular pilot training while maintaining the academy’s focus on safety, reliability, and student experience.

Alongside fleet growth, Aeros is actively expanding its instructor team, ensuring strong instructor availability and consistency across its UK bases. This growth is fully supported by Aeros’ in-house maintenance capability, providing enhanced aircraft availability, rapid technical support, and rigorous maintenance standards as the fleet continues to scale.

The Tecnam P-Mentor’s modern avionics, fuel-efficient performance, and airline-relevant cockpit environment make it ideally suited to Aeros’ modular training programmes. The ongoing transition of Aeros’ SEP fleet to Tecnams will also deliver a meaningful reduction in carbon footprint for the same level of flight activity, supporting more sustainable flight training without compromising capability.

Further fleet investment remains planned as part of Aeros’ phased renewal and growth strategy, including continued development of its multi-engine offering with Diamond aircraft to support advanced training requirements.

Martin Lynch, Chief Operating Officer at Aeros Flight Training, commented:

“This additional Tecnam order reflects both strong demand and our confidence in the direction of the academy. We’re not just adding aircraft, we’re expanding holistically across fleet, facilities, and instructors, all supported by our own maintenance operation. That joined-up approach allows us to grow while protecting the quality, reliability, and student experience that Aeros is known for.”

Mike MacDonald, Fleet Manager, added:

“The Tecnam P-Mentor has proven to be an excellent addition to the Aeros fleet, both operationally and from a maintenance perspective. Its modern design, efficiency, and reliability make it ideally suited to high-utilisation training environments. With our in-house maintenance team supporting a growing fleet, we’re able to maximise aircraft availability while maintaining the highest standards of safety and care as the academy continues to expand.”

This sustained investment positions Aeros Flight Training for the next phase of growth, ensuring students benefit from modern aircraft, experienced instructors, and well-supported facilities across its UK network.

This carefully phased approach ensures Aeros remains at the forefront of UK pilot training—offering a modern, reliable, and future-ready fleet that supports both safety and student success.
