FTEJerez Launches 6th Edition of Iberia Cadet Pilot Program

Spain – FTEJerez, the Jerez‑headquartered flight training group and long‑standing Iberia pilot cadet programme partner, has announced the launch of the sixth edition of the Iberia Cadetes program, continuing its structured partnership with Iberia to finance and develop future airline pilots.

  • The programme funds 50% of the course fees, reducing financial barriers for selected candidates.
  • Eligibility requirements include:

    • Right to live and work in the EU

    • Fluency in Spanish

    • Completed university degree

  • The program is designed to identify high-potential candidates and provide airline-oriented ATPL training aligned with Iberia’s operational standards.

Italy’s Aviomar Flight Academy Welcomes 24 Cadets into Ryanair Future Flyer Programme in February 2026

Italy – Aviomar Flight Academy, the Rome headquartered EASA Approved Training Organization, has welcomed 24 new cadets (Dakota II) into the Ryanair Future Flyer Academy Ab-Initio Course, marking the start of the Dakota II cohort’s structured airline-sponsored training pathway.

In November 2024 Aviomar Flight Academy announced that they will be opening a brand-new training centre for aspiring airline pilots at Parma International Airport in 2025. As part of this new investment plan, Aviomar will develop a purpose-built 2000sqm flight training centre in northern Italy with the capacity to train in excess of 150 trainees per year. The training facility will be primarily dedicated to the Ryanair Future Flyer Academy cadet training programmes.

The new base will feature a hangar for the new aircraft fleet and a training centre comprising of flight operations and maintenance offices, classrooms for theoretical instruction and two flight simulators (Diamond DA42 FSTD and Boeing 737-8200 MAX FSTD). The Flight Training Centre will be powered by solar energy produced by the 1,000 m2 of photovoltaic panels embedded in new eco-friendly hangar.

Aviomar Flight Academy has delivered ab-initio training to over a thousand pilots and is the preferred training provider for 12 European operators, including Ryanair, the No. 1 airline in Europe – Aviomar is the only Ryanair official training partner in Italy.

As part of this agreement, the Ryanair Future Flyer Academy flight training courses will be offered not only at the Rome Training Centres but also at the new Parma Flight Training Centre.

Ireland – Atlantic Flight Training Academy (AFTA), a Cork-based integrated flight training organisation and partner in the Ryanair Future Flyer Academy, hosted Captain Lionel Murphy from Ryanair in late February 2026 as part of its ongoing airline-aligned cadet development programme.

  • Captain Murphy met with AFTA’s Ryanair-sponsored cadets, providing operational insights and guidance ahead of their upcoming Type Ratings, reinforcing the transition from ab initio training into airline-standard operations.

  • Discussions were held with AFTA’s senior instructors focused on current training standards, operational updates, and maintaining alignment between academy delivery and Ryanair’s evolving operational and recruitment requirements.

Founded in 1995, AFTA has trained more than 2,800 pilots and currently operates a 26-aircraft fleet alongside advanced simulators, including Boeing 737NG and 737 MAX 8200 devices. AFTA maintains long-standing partnerships with major airlines such as Ryanair, Air Astana, VistaJet, ASL Airlines Ireland, and GlobeAir, and collaborates with Munster Technological University (MTU) on academic programmes.
